Cinema lounge & film club launched at our Devonshire Care Home

One of the best loved facilities at our Devonshire Care Home has always been the cinema lounge.

For many years residents have gathered here once a week, carefully chosen a film, fired up the popcorn maker and settled in for evening of big screen entertainment.

It’s popularity over the years put it straight to the top of the list when we were planning the upgrades we’d make in 2020.

The refurbished cinema lounge

Since January the cinema lounge has been refurbished with lovely comfortable armchairs to make Hart Care’s cinema experience even more enjoyable for residents.

It’s like a mini boutique cinema right here in the home.

The weekly film club

The new additions to the cinema have reignited many of our residents' love for film. This has led to the creation of the weekly film club within the home.

Each week members of the film club select a film they think our residents will enjoy. They then invite residents to join them in the newly refurbished cinema lounge to watch and discuss the film.

We have a huge range of films for them to choose from and the film club likes to mix up their selections between modern and classic films.

Endless entertainment for residents

The weekly film club is just one of the enjoyable activities our team provides residents through our extensive entertainment programme.

Other activities include:

- Weekly exercise classes

- Regular off site trips to places of interest

- Therapist sessions

- Themed parties
