Exciting outings to look forward to in 2019
Our activity planning for 2019 is in full swing and our ongoing commitment to providing stimulating experiences for our residents has lead us to dig deeper into our box of great things to do in Devon.
This year we’ll be making regular visits to:
Buckland Abbey is a former Cistercian abbey that was founded in 1278. The abbey is the former home of Sir Francis Drake, but today it’s one of the most popular historical sites in Devon. Our residents enjoy walking the grounds, exploring the museum and catching up over a cream tea in the café.
Bovisand Beach and Cafe
Bovisand beach is a beautiful sheltered bay, just a 35 minute drive from the home. Residents enjoy the picturesque scenery and those that are able, find a walk across the sand very relaxing. For those less mobile residents, the cafe at Bovisand provides the perfect spot to spend an afternoon with panoramic views of the South Devonshire coast.
Lopwell Dam and Cafe
Lopwell Dam is another area of exquisite natural beauty that’s very popular with our residents. Just a 15 minute drive from the home, the dam is easily accessible for residents of most abilities. The surroundings are relaxing and of course there’s a great cafe for a cuppa when it’s required.
We love getting our residents out of the care home and interacting with nature, but for when the weather isn’t playing ball, we’re introducing some new acts to perform for us each week.
In 2019, as well as old favourites like Friday Bingo, the residents are planning to start a monthly quiz session and a crossword club.
We’re dedicated to providing a wide range of stimulating activities and experiences for all our residents throughout the year. To talk more about the activities, services and general care we provide here at Hart Care, contact us today.« View All news
